Blackstone, CMS set India joint venture

The Blackstone Group said Monday it is forming a joint venture with CMS Group to provide IT business services in India, including card solutions, transaction printing solutions and ATM cash management. The new company will be formed from existing operations at CMS, and Blackstone will be the majority owner of the new company. Blackstone said Rajiv Kaul, ex-CEO of Microsoft India, would be CEO of the new company

Nagarjuna Construction bags 6 orders worth Rs 4.84 bn

Nagarjuna Construction Company has secured six new orders aggregating Rs 4.84 billion. It received first order worth Rs 1.21 billion from the Golden Jubilee Hotels, Hyderabad for construction of a 5 star deluxe hotels at Madhapur, Hyderabad to be completed over a period of 15 months.

The second order is from the CMD, MP Paschim Kshetra Vidut Vitran, Indore for different works valued at Rs 1.11 billion to be completed over a period of 12 months.


The third order is from the National Institute of Technology (NIIT), Agartala for construction of boys and girls hostel valued at Rs 990 million to be completed over a period of 21 months.

The fourth order is from the registrar, Yogi Vemana University, Kadapa for construction of buildings at Yogi Vemana University campus valued at Rs 720 million to be completed over a period of 18 months.

The fifth order is from director general, Project Seabird, New Delhi for construction of dwelling units and common facilities for project seabird valued at Rs 450 million to be completed over a period of 18 months and the sixth order is from the Learning Panorama Foundation, Mumbai for construction of school project at Borivali valued at Rs 360 million to be completed over a period of 12 months.

NTPC inks MoU with NHPC, Power Grid & DVC

National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) announced sigining of memorandum of understanding (MoU) amongst NTPC, NHPC, Power Grid and DVC on Dec. 1, 2008.


The MoU was inked to form a joint venture company to set up with equal equity participation an `online high power test laboratory` (OHPTL) for short circuit testing facility.
